Students looked at Andy Warhol’s ‘Endangered Species’ prints for inspiration to create
a collaged portrait of an endangered animal.
The activity involved students drawing quick portraits of endangered animals shown
on our IWB and choosing one to enlarge.
Students were impressed by Warhol’s use of colours in his prints and were keen to try unusual combinations of colour and texture for their chosen animal.
Once the portrait was complete, the students experimented with Zart Supermix Oil
Pastels to create the background.
Some of the animals featured here include a Panda, Black Rhino, Cassowary, Numbat, Southern Bell Frog and Tasmanian Devil.
