Wire Sculpture

How To:
  • The activity was to create, in human form, a 2 dimensional sculpture using wire and beads. Without including a face, create a sense of gender, style, attitude, action and personality
  • Materials used were: florist wire, beading wire, beads, wool and tools.

Discussion Points:

  • Overall shape and form of a body
  • Position of body parts.
  • Shapes formed by bodies in action
  • Poses for attitude.
  • Creating a personality with body language rather that facial expression.
  • Elements of pattern, design, line, shape, form etc.
  • Link to beaded artworks eg African beading, headbands, masks etc.
  • Difference between 2Dand 3D sculpture.
