How To: Year 2 Integrated into the classroom theme of "Greece," students began learning about Greek Vessels. Look at a range of vessel shapes and designs on artworks from books, posters, visiting an antiquities collector. Design a vessel, adding shape, patterns and line work. Use a soft drink bottle as a base A PVA and water mixture was applied to newspaper pieces and layers were built up to form a solid shape. Scrunched newspaper was added to form handles and stiffened with paper mache techniques. Smooth layers of litho over the vessel and then add Chromacryl paint and permanent marker to finish the design.
