Peter Booth inspired Tonal Work

How To:

Year 6

  • After viewing the Peter Booth exhibition, the idea of a related project was developed.
  • Students studied Booth's work and then made images related to his work.
  • They used a 'viewfinder' like a camera lens to capture their own picture from one of his existing art pieces.
  • A lesson was spent with oil pastels and charcoal, experimenting with blending, overlapping and mixing the mediums.
  • Students completed their work focusing on light and shade areas, using the black and white to help create tone and dramatic effects.
