How To:
Students from Grade 4 studied various works of Claude Monet including “Poppies in the Field. After looking closely at Monet’s style of painting through a multimedia presentation, students recreated his famous work on a piece of calico using Chromacryl Paints.
Students were introduced to different forms of stitching (running stitch, back stitch, long stitch and sewing on beads) and practised these on plain pieces of calico before adding to their Monet piece. Using a RUBIC as an assessment guide, students embellished their work with various stitches, felt and beads.
