How To:
As part of their unit on Melbourne, students looked at the wonderful landmarks around the city area.
We focused on Federation Square, particularly the design and shape of the building.
Each student worked on their own triangular shape over a three week period, using the following steps:
- Fairy Floss and match sticks were used to create three separate panels of triangle and diamond shapes.
- Glue the sticks together and set aside to dry.
- Cover each created shape with a different Metallic Paper and glue each paper shape on the back of each of the three panels.
- Decorate the front of each panel with markers.
- Using a hot Glue Gun and wire join together to create a sculpture of Federation square.
Students loved making their pyramids and seeing how their contribution was part of a bigger structure.
