Beetle Bugs • Level 3

How To:

We looked at a variety of beetle pictures and discussed their characteristics. We decided to use a ‘bird’s-eye view’ and the idea of symmetry for the beetle bodies.
We used Food Dye for the border, dry pastels, black ink and metallic pens. The splattered effect was achieved with a toothbrush and ink.
