The aim of this activity was for students to: examine the work of impressionist artists, especially the use of colour; develop skills by cutting and tearing fabric strips; create their own weaving loom by winding threads onto an ice-cream lid; and to create a textile interpretation of Claude Monet's "Water Lillies" or Vincent Van Gogh's "Sun Flowers" by using a woven background and collage and weaving fabric strips in either cool or warm colours.
