How To:

TASK: How to show a figure in motion/capture the action.

DISCUSSION: Commonwealth Games-when, where and who

Bodies, shape, muscles, limbs, specific movements in different sports, sports wear and uniforms  (shorts, shoes, number, media etc.)

ART ELEMENTS: Shape, line, background, colour, surface and layering

PROCESS:  

• Lesson One: Main figure and background painted
• Lesson Two: Surface detail- clothing figure, background detail in pastel
• Collage elements to include medals and numbers
• As this was one of the final art tasks undertaken by this level for their Prep year, I was very interested to see how successfully they could manage this task with minimal assistance.
• Apart from setting out paints etc. the students worked at their own pace and were responsible for the complexity and detail of the final image.
