My dads name is Peter Tongatua and he is Tongan. My Tongan name is Ofa (means love). I was born in January 18th of 1980 at Dubbo NSW. I grew up in the outer suburbs of Sydney (NSW). I moved to Melbourne(VIC) in December 93. I didn't go to school (Elwood, Hobson bay collages), so I started to paint canvases. My uncle (Des Mackay =Nudawa) showed me how to do Aboriginal Art from our tribe (Barunbinja).
Since I have been in Melbourne from 1994-2000, I have done work with people from, Wirwunjeri tribe, Yorta tribe, Bunnurong tribe and Watchembilly tribe. Some of the work was:
1. Didgeridoo playing
2. Ceremonial dance
3. Art (stories, designs and techniques)
4. Teaching (school, special events and private functions)
