Thread Art

Materials:

Cardboard Thread Art Templates, Metallic Yarn, Assorted beads

How to do Thread Art:

1. Colour the Thread Art Template with markers, crayons, or coloured ink.
2. Tape the Metallic Yarn to the back of the Thread Art Template.
3. Wind the thread from one side of the circle or rectangle
to the other; do not go through the centre.
4. Each time you wind, return to your previous thread placement and move on one spoke.
5. Yarn will eventually overlap.Continue winding until the desired effect is achieved.
6. Cut and tape the end of the thread to the back of the template when finished. Try using another colour yarn on top of the first in a different winding pattern. Alternatively thread beads or sequins onto the yarn before winding.
7. Add decoration in the centre of the piece if you wish.
8. Create a hanger by taping a loop of thread to the back of the template.

Extension Ideas

The frame of the baubles should not be discarded, as there are a myriad of ways to use them. For example Christmas Card Frames..
