Relief Maps

Magiclay

Suitable for:

Primary levels

Materials:

Aluminium Foil, Paper Magiclay, Poster Colour Paints, Corrugated Cardboard & Cover Paper

How to make a Relief Map:

  1. Scrunch up a piece of Aluminium Foil roughly in the shape of the country you want to replicate.
  2. Cover this shape with a thin sheet of Paper Magiclay, rolled or manipulated to the shape you want. Press the Magiclay over the foil and down onto a cut out shape of Corrugated Card. Simply by pressing it down onto the card it will adhere. Set aside to dry.
  3. Paint the model with colours best representing the terrain of that country.
  4. Paint the corrugated border with a colour to represent the water surrounding your country or the terrain of the bordering country.
