Dragonfly Fusible Webbing (Small)

Materials:

Paper Magiclay, Shimmer Paint, Coloured Stocking Pieces, Craft Aluminium Wire, Metallic Wire Cord, Plastic Beads, Metallic Yarn, Ostrich Wool, PVA, Bulldog Clips, Wooden Beads, Fusible Webbing, Nylon Wings, Rub n Buff, Shimmer Cellophane & Metallic Jersey

How to Make a Fusible Webbing Dragonfly:

1. Create a dragonfly body using Paper Magiclay and adorn it with horns, spikes etc. by manipulating the Magiclay and pressing them on to the body.

2. Press in the Wooden Beads where the eyes will be placed and press in holes for the Stocking wings/Nylon Wings. Set aside to dry.

3. Nylon Wings: Paint the wings with Shimmer Paint and when dry fuse pieces of Metallic Jersey and Shimmer Cellophane to the wings using Fusible Webbing and an iron.

4. Stocking Wings: Make the wings using Craft Aluminium Wire shaped into a wing shape. Stretch a length of Coloured Stocking over the wire and secure it at the base with PVA. Clamp this end with a Bulldog Clip until it is dry.

5. Paint the dragonfly with Shimmer Paint and set aside to dry.

6. Glue on the eyes, wings, antennae, tongue etc. Apply Rub n Buff to the painted body.

7. Wrap Metallic Yarn where appropriate.

8. Stick in lengths of wire to create the six legs.
