Bilby

Easter Bilby

Materials:

Cardboard Bilby
Kinder Squares Flint
Poster Colours Paint by Zart
Pearl Paper
Zart School Colours Paint
Retro Pop Paper
Cotton Filters

How to make an Easter Bilby:

  1. Paint a Cardboard Bilby using blue Poster Colours, to represent the sky.
  2. Cut some small oval shaped Easter Eggs from Retro Pop Paper or other decorative papers.
  3. Cut strips of green Kinder Squares with a jagged edge to represent grass.
  4. Layer the strips of grass on top of each other, applying glue only to the bottom edge.
  5. Cover the Bilby’s tail with a strip of green Kinder Square and glue it and the grass in place.
  6. Glue the eggs in amongst the grass as though they are hidden.
  7. Cut off any excess paper extending over the edge of the Cardboard Bilby.
  8. Paint some fluffy white clouds in the sky by dabbing white Zart School Colours Paint using a Cotton Filter.
  9. Draw in an eye for the Bilby.

 

Indigenous Bilby

Materials:

Cardboard Bilby
Poster Colours Paint by Zart Earth Palette
Zart School Colours Paint White
Zart School Colours Paint Brown
Cotton Filters

How to make an Indigenous Bilby:

  1. Create a design inspired by Indigenous Australian artwork.
  2. Paint areas of a Cardboard Bilby using earth coloured Poster Colours and when dry paint on your design.
  3. Use Cotton Filters and the end of a paintbrush to apply dots using Zart School Colours Paint.

 

Natural Bilby

Materials:

Cardboard Bilby
Poster Colours Paint by Zart Earth Palette
Portfolio Water-Soluble Oil Pastels

How to make an Natural Bilby:

  1. Look up images of a Bilby to get an idea of what they look like.
  2. Paint a Cardboard Bilby using Poster Colours. Set aside to dry.
  3. Create the texture of fur using strokes of an Oil Pastel.
