About Zart Education

Zart Education was established by Zart Art in 1988 when a need arose to provide professional development for art educators. While Zart Education is partly self-funding it is largely funded by Zart Art. This is our way of supporting art education in kindergarten, primary and secondary schools.
We also provide for universities, local councils, librarians, hospital educators, kindergarten teachers, after school program leaders, and leaders of holiday programmes.

All our workshops are Pdi listed.

Zart Art Organised Workshops

Zart organised workshops are conducted at our base in Box Hill North and at designated centres around Victoria. We also conduct a number of workshops interstate. Workshops are scheduled after school hours, Saturday mornings and full days during school time and school holidays. The content of each workshop varies so that during the course of a calendar year we cover different components of the art curriculum. Secondary workshops tend to focus on more specialised areas, such as, Thinking Curriculum, folio presentation and other specialised art subjects.

Client Requested Workshops – Teacher PD

Client Requested Workshops (CRW) are requested by regional leaders, principals, curriculum co-ordinators and heads of faculty and network groups. These workshops are tailor-made to suit the needs the participants. The duration varies from a full day to after school hours. Most of the assistance we provide is in the area of programme development.

Through professional development we help schools revitalise and inject more enthusiasm into their art programmes. We believe that at primary level teaching, visual art is the responsibility of all teachers and that you do not have to be artistic to teach art, but you do need to know how children develop in art and how to use specific skills to harness and nurture childrens creativity.

Ideas and Product Presentation

Our consultants visit schools and educational facilities assisting in product knowledge, curriculum advice, activities, and updating on new materials and products. They are happy to provide advice and expertise on techniques and applications and are there as a resource for our customers. When they visit they bring with them literature on products, techniques and art information, as well as new materials, samples showing the use of materials and provide ideas on how to use the products. These metropolitan and country presentations provide the ideal venue for consolidating or starting up a regional network of art teachers.

It is an excellent opportunity to explore new ideas, and view and discuss the products with colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere. Generally, presentations take 1–1.5 hours and for catering purposes please book in by phoning Zart Art on 9890 1867 or email zes@zartart.com.au.

Artist in Residence

Zart Education has established a register of artists and art consultants who wish to work directly with children in schools. These individuals are ideal for artist-in-residence programmes and have vast talent and expertise in their area of artistry. Once we establish a link between the artist and the school, the school negotiates directly with the artist.
Each Artist has an area of expertise. Click a catergory of interest below for more information on the artists:
